Nativity of Mary School
, in Clarence, is proud to announce the introduction of new classes to the curriculum. Recognizing the need to prepare our students to be the best in their future careers, the eighth grade students are enrolled in a three part course of study that includes career development, debate and public speaking. The courses cover a wide range of topics including resume writing, skill development in speech delivery and effective listening, and how to set goals to selecting the right personal career choice.

Also introduced this fall was Regents Earth Science which consists of both a lab and lecture component. Lecture time will introduce concepts in geology, astronomy and meteorology. While the laboratory experience provides students with the opportunity to develop the scientific inquiry techniques that coincide with the subject matter.

Cherie Ansuini, principal, explains the reasons behind the new curriculum additions, “The world is changing quickly and it is our responsibility to ensure our students present their absolute best self to the world. It is important to teach all of these skills at an early age. Years from now, when they look back at their educational journey, we want them to say with confidence that their time at Nativity gave them a solid foundation to be the successful person they are today.”
